This remodel had many challenges (I see you, ceiling) and the big priority was to bring more light to the space. We switched appliance locations so the cooktop was on an outside wall and the dishwasher was close to dish storage cabinets. We added more windows at the sink and in the dining area to bring in the light! The glass cabinet with metal doors and glass shelves also brought light to another corner of the kitchen. The perimeter cabinets were a textured wood grain finish from @durasupreme and the hood and island have a graphite paint. The old floor was replaced, as were the fluorescent light fixtures.
